Chris Cornell singing with piano record at House of Blues 2011 Houston

I had to share this video.  One of my favorite things to do is go see live music. Last weekend we went to the House of Blue and saw Chris Cornell. This song he is singing with a vinyl record playing piano in the background. I have never seen this be done before on a live stage and I am a fan of vinyl. So to here the popping sounds of the vinyl playing in the background was really neat.

Gruene, TX wedding continued...

Gruene, TX Wedding

The weekend after Spring Break my husband and I went to a wedding in Gruene, TX. We had a great time. Beautiful place, great food and good local music. Our room had a river front view.  My husband and I really needed the break but I was ready to come home to my babies by Sunday. While I was gone Michael, my oldest passed his testing and received his green belt in TaeKwonDo and Ethan got to play pitcher in his t-ball game.

Abel Weekend Excursions

I haven't posted in a few weeks. So much to tell you about, now where should I begin.... Spring Break went by way to quick. We did make it to the Houston Museum of Natural Science and the Houston Zoo all in one day. At the museum we enjoyed looking and reading more about the dinosaur fossils in more detail this time. (This was not our first time at the museum) My oldest at age five was determined to be a paleontologist and he says of course that has changed now but he secretly still really loves learning about dinosaurs. I think when we left there his passions had been rejuvenated!
Ethan was excited about seeing the animals at the zoo. They have more birds now. The one for me that is a must see was the Rhinoceros hornbill. This bird looks like it had two bills but the top one is actually some type of casque to help amplify sound. The boys of course liked the reptile house; not for me so much. They have two new baby green tree pythons that actually hatched at the zoo. Besides the zoo being really crowded we had a great time and it was nice to always have access to shade throughout the zoo. Our next trip to this area I think we are going to attempt the paddleboats that are located in between the zoo and the science museum.

My First Blog...

Well, I have never blogged before so this should be a fun new adventure of learning. I am making this blog for a class assignment, so we'll see how it goes. Today we are in the downward slope of mine and the kids Spring Break. I think it's going by way too fast but then we have summer break to look forward to. My kids have enjoyed a week of outdoor play and video game marathons. Which makes them very happy since they do not get to play video games during the school week. I think the request for Spring Break is fishing and the Houston Museum of Natural Science. So we'll be taking these trips when my husband comes home this weekend.  Well feel free to give me any advice on blogging or good fishing spots for kids.
